Split Point Lighthouse Hike

The hike from Urquarts Bluff to Split Point Lighthouse is a spectacular coastal walk along Victoria’s Surf Coast.  Starting at the sandy shores of Urquarts Bluff, the trail winds along dramatic cliff tops with sweeping views of the Southern Ocean.  Expect rugged rock formations, crashing waves and seasonal wildflowers lining the path.  As you approach the lighthouse- perched high above the coastline since 1891- the scenery opens up to panoramic ocean vistas and rolling green hills.  After a photo or 2 we will head to the Teahouse for morning tea of Devonshire Tea or Coffee and Cake.

-Wear comfortable walking clothes and shoes

 Meeting Point:

Urquarts Bluff car park near the toilet block

Turn off from Great Ocean Road.

Weather:  

This walk will proceed in all weather unless the safety of walkers will be compromised.

Please dress appropriately.

ADVENTURE RATING:

This walk is rated Green.

This walk is goes along rugged tracks, sand and formed paths and has no major hills.  It has a 3km section through bush and then approximately 3 km each way  on sealed paths.  The distance will be around 12km when completed.   Anyone with moderate fitness will be able to complete this walk. 

Our traffic light system is only a guide for physical activity.  Only you can decide whether the adventure is suitable for you to attend.
